Junior Marketing Assistant - Russian
We have an immediate vacancy in our marketing department in Cheltenham for an assistant to help our existing team of 3 people and, in due course, to develop the Russian section of our catalogue. The main work of the department consists of 1) evaluating and cataloguing the many new publications related to the languages and literatures of Europe that we receive through the year, and 2) repesenting ESB at conferences and exhibitions throughout the UK. The job involves quite a lot of travelling, so a clean driving licence is essential, and own car is preferred.
Fluency in spoken and written Russian and English is essential, together with a good standard in another major European language. The starting salary is £18,000. The company operates a profit-sharing scheme and can arrange, and will contribute to, a personal pension scheme.
Representatives (term time)
We are also looking for two representatives to join our marketing department on a part-time basis. The main work will be to represent ESB at a wide variety of conferences and exhibitions throughout the UK and, after a while, to visit key academic and trade customers. The jobs, covering northern England and Scotland and southern England and Wales respectively, will be home-based, and are for 24-30 full time weeks or equivalent per year. They involve a lot of travelling so a clean driving licence is essential, and own car is preferred. A keen interest in the major European languages and excellent written English are also essential; experience of language learning/teaching at any level would be an advantage.
Editorial consultants for French, Spanish and German
We are looking for experienced language teachers to help us review, compare and assess the many new books and materials we receive from our continental publisher partners. Applicants must be fully up-to-date with the various current curriculum developments in the UK from KS1 upwards as they affect modern foreign languages.
The work will normally involve not more than 10-15 hours per month. Payment will be based on hours required, plus reasonable expenses.
