To keep up with the wintry mood of the moment, what with all the snow and the news about Lake Vostok, this week's book of the week is an account in comic book format of the 1914-1917 expedition of Shackleton in Antarctica. Disaster strucks when the expedition's ship, Endurance, becomes trapped in the ice and eventually sinks, after months living on it as in a winter station. This is the story of how 27 men make it back to dry land under the leadership of a heroic Ernest Shackleton.
